The Cure for Sunburn…

Why more people don’t know about this is a mystery, but it works.

The natural nourisher, moisturiser, and healer: Lavender Essential Oil!

Grown all over the world, this essential oil naturally protects and heals the skin.

Back in 1910, French chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse was working in the laboratory when he burned his hand during an experiment. He plunged his hand into the nearest tub of liquid; lavender essential oil. The quickness of healing and lack of scarring amazed him, and this began his fascination with ‘aromatherapy’.

Lavender essential oil was the catalyst that made all other essential oils be noticed. As we’re approaching summer, the secret powers of this plant need to be known.

If, like me, you are prone to getting burnt by that big yellow thing in the sky, apply some lavender essential oil to the affected area and watch the results. First goes down the redness and heat; beats all those ‘after-sun’ brands with a stick!

So take some with you wherever you go this summer, you’ll get hooked! 🙂

P.S. Only brought this up, because I did in fact burn myself today. Lavender to the rescue!!

P.P.S. You don’t have to use an expensive pure Lavender oil. There shouldn’t be any, as it’s very economical to distill – if you do find an expensive 10ml bottle of Lavender, you’re paying for the brand name, not the actual product – they will all create the same effects. The french species Lavandula angustifolia will suffice! I purchase my essential oils from the following website –>
